Our current undergraduate and postgraduate population of approximately 800 students are enrolled in 13 unique programmes of bespoke training. We have a large number of home and international students and recruit both nationally and overseas.

Duties of the Role

The postholder will be responsible for management, recruitment and the academic strategy and delivery of East 15's prestigious MA Acting programme. They will co-ordinate of teaching of all subjects on the MA Acting programme and ensure that the course objectives are met. As course leader they will teach acting modules and directing student productions on the MA programme and leading on administration and assessment for MA Acting. They will oversee supplied budgets, including equipment and staffing. As part of their duties, they will be responsible for locating and hiring staff with specific knowledge and professional practice relevant to the course. The post holder will need to attend all auditions for the degree course as required.

Skills and qualifications required

The successful applicant with have professional experience or practice of professional work in theatre and/or film that is equivalent to a doctoral level degree in theatre/drama, or successful completion of a doctoral degree. Extensive experience of teaching in a conservatoire training environment or equivalent, and specific experience of teaching acting and text-based acting skills / analysis to a high professional standard. They will have experience in a leadership role, either in an HE environment or an equivalent professional environment.
