London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is seeking to recruit a skilled Lead Teacher of English to join this ambitious, academic sixth form. LAE is an Outstanding, heavily oversubscribed school located in the heart of Stratford, close to the Olympic Park and just two minutes from Stratford Station (zone 2/3), with excellent links to all parts of London.

LAE is the top-ranked sixth form provider in England to offer a full A level curriculum, according to The Sunday Times Parent Power Survey 2022. The school is particularly proud of its success in helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain places at the finest universities in the UK and around the world. Over 1,400 of our alumni have progressed to Russell Group universities and over 150 to Oxford or Cambridge.

We are looking for our next Lead Teacher of English to provide outstanding leadership to the small but effective team. The ideal candidate will lead the subject into the brand new premises in 2026 where uptake for the subject will expand.

Candidates should share in our commitment to the highest of academic standards and to the advancement of our students' social mobility. The successful candidate will lead an outstanding department who continuously perform outstanding lessons to deliver outstanding results.
