Accrington, Lancashire, United Kingdom Hyndburn Borough Council Full time

We have an opening in our HR team to deal with the organisation and administration of learning and development opportunities for staff and elected members. This includes the administration of our e-learning system (we'll make sure you get the right training to do this).

What you'll bring:

  • Top-notch organisational skills: You'll be the sort of person who loves organising meetings and events and takes care of the finer details so participants have a great experience
  • Effective communication: You'll confidently engage with colleagues at all levels, ensuring clear and concise communication in person, on the phone and over email
  • Calm under pressure: You'll manage a diverse workload, working closely with team colleagues
  • IT and admin skills: You'll be at home with Microsoft products including Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook and you'll be able to use and set up systems and processes to work effectively and make sure we have accurate and up-to-date records
  • Teamworking ethos: you'll actively contribute to HR-related initiatives and projects, including the implementation of the Learning and Development module of our new Payroll and HR system, Civica

    What we offer:

    • Flexible Working: The role is for up to 21 hours a week, Monday to Friday, but we pride ourselves on our flexible approach to working arrangements and we'll consider any alternatives that we think would work, in terms of helping us provide a responsive service. This can include some homeworking.
    • Generous Benefits: Enjoy flexible working hours, a generous holiday entitlement (with the option to "buy" extra days), learning and development opportunities and comprehensive support when you need it
    • Financial Security: Join our local government pension scheme and also benefit from our life insurance coverage
    • Personal Well-being: Access our 24/7 employee assistance program, including professional counselling support for you and your household members
