Our Project Managers are responsible for the delivery of companywide major projects or workstreams. They lead a cross-functional team across areas such as Product, Operations and Technology with business SMEs. They have oversight of challenging projects, providing the platform to build good global working relationships across all levels of stakeholders.

As a Project Manager, you are responsible for leading and directing workstreams and projects to ensure they are delivered to the defined scope, quality, and schedule. The Project Manager will also support the PMO function with planning, reporting and other control activities. The Project Manager supports the wider Global Plans PMO goals of continuous improvement and helping deliver change within the business so as to achieve overall business strategy for the Employee Share Plan area and be part of a high performing PMO service.

The Project Managers in the Project Management Office (PMO) team focus on large scale enterprise-wide change management initiatives rather than client specific projects or implementations. The role holder will collaborate with key stakeholders at all levels across the business and ensure correct and accurate reporting, highlighting key issues, dependencies, risks, and decisions. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver projects or workstreams to the agreed scope, quality, timeline, and budget in line with the agreed standard and governance to the satisfaction stakeholders. Change to be delivered in line with business strategy to deliver revenue growth, cost reduction, business improvement or regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain detailed plans for the project and implement monitoring, control, and reporting processes to ensure that the project realises the agreed benefits.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure risks, issues and blockers are highlighted and mitigated/ resolved as appropriate.
  • Manage, lead, direct and motivate project team.
  • Manage detail of stakeholder requirements to meet their needs.
  • Assist with transforming the function to the global PMO model including adopting consistent tools, templates and methodology.
  • Escalate risks, issues or blockers when required in a timely manner to ensure support is provided as appropriate.
  • Influence and manage expectations of senior project stakeholders working hard to deliver clear and timely project communications.
  • Create the project governance, organizational structure and outline clear roles and responsibilities for all workstreams and sub-projects.
  • Prepare for, chair and deliver project meetings and Steercos.
  • Work closely with the PMO to ensure alignment of priorities, optimum resource usage and effective executive reporting.
  • Ensure business readiness prior to execution of project, roll out of an upcoming tranche or roll-out of new functionality.
  • Formal closure of projects with review/lessons learned meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

    We are looking for people with these skills:
    • Business-related degree and post-graduate qualification in project management, PMO, program management or significant experience in the field.
    • Project Managers will have 2-3 years' experience of managing projects or working in a project support environment.
    • Experience of delivering complex projects and programmes in fast paced change environment
    • Experience of working in financial services and/or in a business services environment
    • Proven track record of delivering projects into an Operational environment.
    • Recognize problems and respond, systematically gather information, sort through complex issues, seek input from others, address root cause of issues, makes timely decisions, and communicates to others.
