Job Summary

SailGP Technologies in Southampton is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Operations Manager to join our innovative team.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Business Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of business operations to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with SailGP's cutting-edge technology initiatives.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to managing day-to-day operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership :
  • Lead and oversee all business operations for SailGP Technologies, including finance, human resources, administration, and facilities management, whilst working in tandem with global SailGP staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance overall performance in support of SailGP's innovation goals.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads and senior leadership to ensure alignment of operational objectives with SailGP's technology roadmap and strategic vision.
Facilities Administration Management :
  • Support daily facility operations to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment
  • Soft facilities management including utilities, power, water, bills, landscaping, windows, cleaning, security. Waste Management, post management, catering, car parking
  • Hard Services which including lighting, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, building maintenance, fire safety systems
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Manage administrative functions and facilities operations for SailGP Technologies to ensure a safe, productive, and well-maintained work environment.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement processes to support business operations effectively and efficiently.
  • Implement sustainable practices and initiatives to promote environmental responsibility and operational excellence in line with SailGP's commitment to sustainability.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility operations, maintenance, and projects.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as needed.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense tracking for facilities operations.
Financial Management :
  • Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes in coordination with SailGP's finance teams.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain financial health and support technology development initiatives.
  • Drive initiatives to optimise costs, identify revenue opportunities, and enhance profitability in alignment with SailGP's technology innovation priorities.
Human Resources and Talent Management :
  • Work in conjunction with the SailGP People team to support talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and professional development for SailGP Technologies team members.
  • Support the development of a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and excellence in technology development.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintain high levels of employee engagement and satisfaction within the organisation.
Background & Experience Required :
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in facilities coordination or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of business functions such as finance, HR, marketing, and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
