Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) is the Shared Environmental Health and Licensing Service for all six Worcestershire District Councils, hosted by Bromsgrove District Council. WRS is based at Wyre Forest District Council offices in Kidderminster (DY11 7WF) committed to being a customer driven organisation, with our customers at the heart of everything we do; focused on improving on delivery services that make a difference to the community that we serve.

Purpose of the Service

To provide support to Ukrainian families and individuals that have been housed within Bromsgrove and Redditch under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme. This support will comprise of home visits to establish that families are safe and well and follow up support to enable access to local services. The service will support ongoing relationships between Guests and Sponsors with a view to maintaining their residency. Support guests to integrate within the community and to facilitate and encourage Ukrainian families to connect with each other.

Purpose of the Role

To work alongside the guests to identify needs and create a pathway that will help the household settle into life in the UK and sustain their accommodation.

To deliver a tailored programme of signposting, support and assistance and prepare them for independence by providing support to maintain accommodation with their sponsor, to access education, employment and training, health and other services depending on their needs and desires. To develop positive relationships and pathways with organisations to ensure early reporting, intervention and support is available for households. To work closely with the Private Sector Housing Team and Worcestershire County Council in vetting properties and sponsors. To support families to achieve a positive resettlement experience and empower families to achieve independence To work with local community groups and services, specifically the voluntary sector, to support guests in connecting with other guests living within the District/Borough. Main Duties and Responsibilities :-

Role Principles

To provide a rapid response service to meet guests, undertake and safeguarding and wellbeing visits and make payments as soon after they arrive at the sponsors home. To work in partnership with the Homelessness / Housing Advice Team, other council staff and other agencies to support guests to ensure they sustain their accommodation and become tenancy ready and move forward with their lives.To improve access to appropriate services for people who may be at risk of losing their accommodation both in the short and long term. To work alongside partners to create pathways into their services and ensure integrated wrap around services and support is provided longer term via the relevant agencies. To encourage and empower clients to make best use of appropriate statutory and non-statutory resources.To aid clients to improve their financial wellbeing including accessing education, training or employment, utilising welfare assistance and claiming appropriate benefits where necessary.To work with clients to ensure their health and wellbeing needs are being metTo work occasional evenings or weekends to meet the needs of guests that may be working.Maintain accurate records within agreed timescales on agreed systemsMaintain accurate financial recordsTo ensure safe and appropriate working practices are adhered to at all times, especially when visiting or lone working home.General Duties To ensure efficiency, effectiveness and equality in service delivery. To exercise proper integrity and respect of confidential matters and personal information obtained during the execution of the duties of this post.To reflect the Council's core values and objectives in undertaking the duties of this post.To provide outstanding customer services to all customers, colleagues, elected Members etc in line with the "Every Customer, Every Time – Everybody Matters" strategy. In particular by building trust, taking responsibility and assuming ownership of issues, actively listening, communicating with empathy and being flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of others.To understand and comply with the legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant regulations as detailed in the Council's Health and Safety Policy Statement. To carry out duties and responsibilities under the Data Protection Act 1998; in particular, to take all reasonable care that no unauthorised loss or disclosure of personal data occurs.To undertake such other reasonable duties as may be requested.
