This Role: We need a well-organised and energetic professional to support the department's vision for the development of PE and Sport into the next phase of its life. The department has quickly developed into being a leading sports school in Barnet, with fantastic extra-curricular results at district and county level, as well as within the Jewish community. There is both potential and talent in our student body, which includes a number of highly accomplished national performers in a range of sports, and enthusiasm and support from parents. We are proud of our facilities which include a full-size sports hall, activity studio, MUGA, 4G Astroturf and large playing fields.

All students have PE lessons throughout Key Stage 3 and 4, while members of the 6th Form participate in a range of informal sporting activities. Academic PE attracts healthy numbers each year, and we run GCSE PE at Key Stage 4, Level 3 Cambridge Technical, A Level and Level 3 Sports Leaders at Key Stage 5 with considerable success. The successful candidate will be an outstanding practical and theory practitioner with experience of teaching academic PE. Teams represent the school with accomplishment in a good number of sports in both local and Jewish community competitions, so a willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities and fixtures on a regular basis is essential.

The post is suitable for an experienced teacher or an ECT and we offer ECTs employment for the last few weeks of the summer term.

Our Results: We have a track record of outstanding results. Students achieve excellent outcomes and make great progress. In % of A level grades were at A*or A and more than 79% of Cambridge Technical grades were Distinction* or Distinction. 45% of GCSE grades were grade 7 or higher, with more than a quarter of the cohort achieving at least 7 GCSEs at grade 7 or better. Our ALPS grade has been consistently 2 at both A level and GCSE, and our 'Progress 8' score is consistently significantly above national average. Supported by a strong programme, students every year gain places at Oxbridge and for Medical and Veterinary Study, as well as for a wide range of specialisms and competitive courses at prestigious institutions.

Several non-teaching colleagues have trained with us as teachers; our rich CPL programme includes full induction for new teaching staff including NQTs, NPQH/SL/ML programmes, and financial support for MA courses, Action Research projects and many other opportunities. Additional responsibilities are always considered for suitable candidates and we offer NQTs employment for the last few weeks of the summer term. Our Location & Community: The school is in beautiful new £50m buildings overlooking the Green Belt. It is easily accessible from Northern, Piccadilly and Overground rail links, public buses run past the entrance and a school coach service (available to staff) serves our whole catchment area.
