Overview:

The Site Manager will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the school site, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. They will oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the premises, while also managing contracts and contractors as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the school site, including maintenance, security, and cleanliness.Conduct and ensure regular inspections of the premises to identify any maintenance or health and safety issues and take appropriate action to address them.Coordinate and oversee all maintenance and repair work carried out by internal staff or external contractors, ensuring it is completed to a high standard and within budget.Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and any health and safety incidents or concerns.Develop and implement procedures for emergency situations, such as fire drills and evacuations, and ensure all staff are trained appropriately.Manage relationships with external suppliers and contractors, including negotiating contracts and monitoring performance.Oversee the security of the premises, including the implementation of security systems and procedures to safeguard against theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation, keeping up to date with any changes or new requirements.Act as a point of contact for staff, students, parents, and visitors regarding site-related issues or concerns.Assist with the planning and execution of school events and activities that may require use of the premises outside of normal operating hours.Maintain a 5 year site development plan and engage in business planning processes as appropriateWider, active engagement with the Estates profession across the Trust, sharing best practice, knowledge and skills to the benefit of the organisation as a wholePerson Specification:

Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting or similar environment.

Knowledge:

Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations, premises management, and maintenance procedures

Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organisational and time management abilities.Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Qualifications:Relevant qualifications in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field.Membership of professional organisation such as IWFMDesirable is a relevant qualification in H&S such as NEBOSH,IOSHFlexibility:

Willingness to work flexibly in terms of location and hours with an ability and willingness to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours when required.
