Job Description Attendance Officer Alternative Provision Location Nottingham :

Overview:

To carry out and co-ordinate the administration of attendance to improve attendance rates and achieve the highest standard of educational achievement possible. Develop and sustain relationships with students and their families so that issues affecting attendance are dealt within the most effective way possible.

Duties:

  • Ensure all registers are completed daily with no missing marks or unexplained absences
  • To make initial enquiries with parents/carers regarding unexplained absences/lateness
  • Input attendance data and investigate any missing data, maintain accurate attendance records, to include unexplained lesson absences and late arrivals
  • Check and remind staff to complete registers within appropriate timescales
  • Print off official registers daily and explained absences in event of a fire
  • To process and action student holiday requests
  • Maintenance of attendance top priority list
  • Responsible for identifying attendance issues and patterns of absence/late arrivals and referring to the Attendance Lead
  • To issue daily correspondence to parents/carers regarding attendance/absence requests in accordance with the school procedures
  • To comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Contact with parents over all aspects of attendance including written correspondence when required as directed by the Associate Assistant Principal with responsibility for attendance
  • Produce attendance reports for Associate Assistant Principal with responsibility for attendance
  • Produce necessary data on a daily/weekly basis and other individual reports when requested
  • Organise, attend and lead meetings with external agencies and parents as required
  • Complete administration tasks as directed by the line manager

Requirements:

Previous experience i- Strong communication skills- Ability to work well in a team- Attention to detail

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 28 per week
