Do you have a background in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management? Have you ever considered using your extensive construction knowledge and experience in an academic career?

To strengthen our commitment to delivering high quality education and research we are seeking to recruit talented individuals to join our experienced and dedicated team of academic staff. You will be involved in the development and delivery of a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the field of construction and quantity surveying. You will also be expected to contribute to our research and knowledge transfer activities.

Currently we are seeking to maintain and develop our expertise in the delivery of Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management in at least two of the following areas: Construction law, measurement, estimating and cost planning, procurement, risk management.

You will have academic qualifications in a relative field, appropriate experience in the construction industry or its associated professions, and full membership of a related Professional Body such as the RICS or the CIOB is an advantage. Academic experience is not essential, but you will have outstanding communication skills and a commitment to excellence and innovation in learning and teaching, putting student experience at the heart of everything you do.

Senior Lecturers will be expected to work closely with the School Executive, Course Leaders, Module Leaders and other members of the course team. You will contribute to the development and revalidation of courses, teaching materials, methods and assessments as well as leading courses and modules yourself. Duties will include marking and giving feedback, acting as a personal tutor and mentor and providing pastoral support to students. You will also be expected to engage in subject, professional or pedagogic research or other scholarly activities to support your teaching.
