The Centre of Environmental Policy are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Environmental Social Science. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the expansion of applied social science at Imperial. You will deliver teaching and conduct research in the broad field of environmental social science in one of the UK's leading universities. You will contribute to high impact research relating to global challenges such as net zero, food security and biodiversity conservation. You will join a centre of excellence for applied social science within Imperial, with the chance to collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines across the university and beyond.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To apply for research funding and lead and/or collaborate in the management and delivery of interdisciplinary, high impact research projects
  • To publish high quality, REF29-compatible outputs in peer reviewed journals
  • To teach, supervise and provide pastoral care for students on our internationally renowned Masters programmes in Environmental Technology and Conservation Science
  • To recruit, supervise and provide pastoral care for PhD students
  • To participate in the business planning and management of the department

Essential requirements

  • Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Environmental Social Science or related field
  • Evidence of research income generation and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • An excellent track record of research publications in relevant fields
  • Experience in recruiting and supervising PhD students
