We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our thriving bioinformatics public engagement programme, 4273pi ), as Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioinformatics Education. The post involves designing, planning, delivering and researching public engagement with secondary schools across Scotland.

This post is advertised as part-time (17.5 hours per week), however, we are open to considering other working patterns.

The Opportunity:

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the 4273pi bioinformatics education project, and will, under the general direction of the academic PI, lead project planning and implementation.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • You will be organized and flexible, with experience in event management, public engagement and research.
  • You will have training in molecular biology or a similar discipline, as a degree or component of a degree (or equivalent experience).
  • You will have a PhD (or to be completed within 3 months) or equivalent experience in science, education or public engagement.
  • You will have an interest in diversity, equality and inclusion.
  • You will be willing to drive a variety of hired vehicles (cars, people-carriers and small vans); or, you will have support of a driver (e.g. through Access to Work) who could do this driving.

£39,347 to £46,974 per annum, pro rata
