Summary \r

The Material Controller will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning of manufactured and/or purchased material to maximise the effective use of resources and minimise any disruption caused by constraints.

Role and Responsibilities \r
\r

\r
\tEnsure component requirements are correct and communicated to suppliers in a timely, professional manner. \r
\tUnderstand and implement any MRP-generated 'messages' and amend supplier schedules accordingly. \r
\tManage open order books to ensure appropriate order coverage and optimal inventory levels. \r
\tUpdate and maintain all relevant system requirements pertaining to the role. \r
\tEnsure inventory levels of components under individual control align with departmental objectives. \r
\tEnsure adequate information interchange and interaction with other Supply Chain and Production areas. \r
\tEnsure all activities undertaken are in line with current policies and procedures. \r
\tEnsure external logistics costs are optimised using normal transportation methods. \r
\tHighlight future supply risks. \r
\tProvide a monthly forecast of expected deliveries. \r
\tProactively resolve invoice queries. \r
\tContinually challenging the traditional planning methods and seeking new simple and effective procedures. \r
\tIdentify and remedy excess inventory. \r
\r
\r

Candidate requirements \r
\r

\r
\tTwo years in a planning role. Aerospace industry experience a benefit but not essential. \r
\tSound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. \r
\tMethodical. \r
\tAdheres to deadlines. \r
\tAttention to detail. \r
\tSound working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Infor. \r
\r
\r
