HRGO are currently supporting a market leading global manufacturing business in their search for a Strategic Buyer.

This is a full time permanent position and the hours of work are Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 and Friday 08:00 - 13:30, Nice early finish on a Friday
**Purpose of the role**:
Responsible for all aspects of Sourcing,Tendering, Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management associated with a designated range of category supplier. Driving product in, in conjunction with the Tactical Buying team, at optimum cost, on time andto the required quality standard.
**Tendering**
This includes, revalidation requests, standard revalidation requests, tenders for new parts, and tenders to restructure the supply base.
You will be required to interpret technical drawings and follow a datasheet in order to confirm conformity to requirements.
Work closely with other departments such as Quality, Operations and Engineering to ensure standards are adhered to.
**Purchasing**
Supporting the Material Control team to enable them to raise purchase orders in a timely manner
Act as the first point of call for any escalations relating to Material Control.
Work with the Material Control and Demand Planning teams with the optimisation of procurement settings to reduce manual intervention and control Inventory such as utilising Auto Ordering.
**Category Management**
Responsible for a range of suppliers within a specific category.
Following the supplier review meetings, you will be expected to develop or evolve the existing Procurement strategy for that commodity.
You will need to map the supply base, and over time develop a supply base that is agile, responsive and can drive cost down.
Promote supplier relationship management and actively engage with key suppliers to address issues and identify potential opportunities to further develop collaboration and deliver continuous improvement of supplier performance (e.g. Costs, Service and Quality).
For New Product Introduction projects ensure that a robust Supply Chain is in place from initial launch to long term security of supply.
Build effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality standards are adhered too and standards are understood in relation to the supply of goods and services.
**Skills/Qualifications required**:
Relevant Degree e.g. Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering.
MCIPS Qualified.
Minimum 2 years' in an engineering biased Strategic Procurement role.
Minimum 2 years' in a Tactical Procurement role.
Be used to working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify and establish strategic vendor partnerships.
Leading and driving continuous improvement
Experience of MAPICS XA an advantage.
Salary - Dependent on experience
