Planning Estimator

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Planner Estimator with a strong background in precision engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate quotations and detailed quotes for machined items and fabrications, as well as supporting product cost improvement plans. This role requires a customer-focused approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure manufacturing success.

Responsibilities for Planning Estimator
  • Create accurate quotations and detailed quotes for machined items and fabrications
  • Support product cost improvement plans
  • Produce detailed DOM's and routings
  • Problem solve during manufacturing processes as required
  • Utilize ERP systems for material optimization
  • Lead NPI (New Product Introduction) projects
  • Liaise with internal departments such as supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach throughout the planning and estimating process
Qualifications for Planning Estimtaor
  • Background in precision engineering
  • Manufacturing and engineering experience
  • Knowledge of CNC machining
  • Strong technical competency
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks efficiently
  • Experience in producing quotations and manufacturing planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Day-to-Day duties for Planning Estimator
  • Review customer requirements and specifications to create accurate quotations
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure efficient manufacturing processes
  • Utilise ERP systems to optimize materials for cost-effective production
  • Lead and support NPI projects to ensure successful product launches
  • Collaborate with the supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering teams to address any production challenges
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach in all interactions during the planning and estimating process
