Learning Support Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join an SEN unit at a primary school in SE London, Lambeth, Oval area. This rewarding role involves working with a mixed year group of Year 3 and Year 4 students, starting in September 2024. The school is actively trialling and interviewing candidates now.

Learning Support Assistant - Position Details:

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: SE London, Lambeth, Oval area

Start Date: September 2024

Class Composition: Mixed Year 3 and Year 4, 10 pupils

Support Team: 4 LSA's and 1 Class Teacher

Learning Support Assistant - Role Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant in this SEN unit, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of primary-aged children. Working closely with a dedicated team of LSA's and a class teacher, you will help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:

Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their learning activities

Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom behavior

Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging students to engage and participate

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SEN team

Learning Support Assistant - Qualifications:

Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly Autism (ASC)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students

Ability to work effectively as part of a team
