Learning Support Assistant Opportunity in Deptford

Reeson Education is excited to offer an incredible opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join a Primary school in Deptford. This role is situated in the SEN unit known as "The Lighthouse," serving mixed age groups of children with SEND needs, primarily Autism.

Position Details:

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Deptford, South East London

Start Date: September 2024

Days: 5 days a week

Hours: 8:30 am - 3:45 pm

Learning Support Assistant - Role Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant in The Lighthouse, you will support children with SEND needs, focusing on Autism. The school seeks an experienced individual capable of hitting the ground running and positively impacting the student's learning and development.

Key Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:

Provide individualised support to students with SEND needs, particularly Autism

Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery

Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Support student's learning and development on a one-on-one or small group basis

Participate in school events and activities

Qualifications and Skills for the Learning Support Assistant:

Experience working with children with SEND needs, especially Autism

Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff

Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
