Paignton, Torbay, United Kingdom Preston Bridge School Full time

An exciting opportunity for a Head Teacher who is passionate about delivering an innovative and alternative curriculum for pupils with SEMH and ASC needs.

At Spaghetti Bridge, we celebrate our unique three stage curriculum approach to learning, which embeds the necessary 21st century skills that our children need in order to lead fulfilling lives in a fast changing society.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Head Teacher to join our thriving school community at Preston Bridge School, which is set across two campuses in Paignton.

With a primary focus on delivering our three stage curriculum to an exceptional standard and to ensure that our students experience a safe, creative and aspirational environment, the successful candidate will work alongside our School Leadership Team and Group Support members to progress the schools development as it continues to grow.

We are looking for an experienced school leader, who is process driven and able to drive forward the strategic vision for the school, whilst establishing a culture that promotes excellence, equality, and high expectations of attainment for both students and colleagues.

Our relational approach will be modelled by the successful candidate, who will demonstrate a compassionate, emotionally intelligent leadership style.

The successful candidate will:

• have substantial experience in leading within a relevant setting

• be able to articulate their understanding of up to date, evidence-based practice relating to SEMH and ASC interventions and how it might underpin a school such as ours

• know how to employ a range of evidence, including performance data, to support, monitor, evaluate and improve aspects of school life

• be able to explain the principles of strategic financial planning, budgetary management and principles of best value

• be able to demonstrate their ability to develop and support staff

• have a successful record of multi-agency working

• be an excellent and dynamic communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders

• have a systems centric approach

The successful candidate will be supported with a full induction programme which will include working with our Head Teachers and Group Support Team.

We recognise that our schools all serve their own communities and are unique, but are keen to meet individuals who are passionate about adopting our innovative approaches.

We understand the importance of building meaningful relationships with pupils and families to nurture growth and development of relational milestones such as, building trust and sharing enjoyment. Care and making connections are at the heart of our ethos and we work hard to ensure that all staff feel cared for too.

We are strongly committed to providing high quality professional development for all our staff. As part of a growing group, we will be able to offer significant opportunities to work in collaboration with colleagues from across the group in order to develop innovative practice.

We are constantly reviewing our practices to ensure that our staff can focus on what matters: providing a rich environment in which children and young adults can learn and thrive.

We recognise that our schools all serve their own communities and are unique, but we also insist that our schools follow Spaghetti Bridge ways of working which ensure that there are high expectations and equality of opportunity for all our pupils.

We would encourage early application and may appoint prior to the closing date.
