The Role:

Vale Lodge is a 52-week placement that offers a comprehensive Residential Service to Children and Young People with learning difficulties and disabilities within Worcestershire Children First. The team ensures the physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and assist in their personal development. As a Night Wake Residential Support Worker your role will involve supporting children and young people with disabilities, learning difficulties, and complex needs. The position focuses on supporting the young people who live at the home through the night and ensure their needs are met.

As a Night Wake Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Work from 21:30 to 07:30 am every Sunday evening and every sixth Saturday.
  • Provide administrative support.
  • You will have access to a Residential Support Worker on shift who will sleep in.
  • You will provide support to young people using relationship-based practice.
  • Preparing for and encouraging morning routines.
  • Managing complex and challenging behaviour that may present through the night.
  • Keen to work with children with complex and challenging behaviour.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

    You will be passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced in residential practice. You will be conversant with what makes a difference to children and be aspirational for any child or young person you will share the home with. The Team will deliver consistent, individualised, focused support to children with a range of emotional and behavioural needs. You will have a flexible, adaptive, supportive, and welcoming approach.

    Collaboration with all partner agencies is the key to success in planning for children in care. WCF will support the candidate through a robust induction to enhance their knowledge of WCF key leads, both internally within our Childrens Service's and our existing external partner agencies.
