Cytiva is looking for an Analytical Methods Manager to join its Fibro Membrane Chromatography R&D team, based at their new state of the art R&D facility in Sycamore House, Stevenage. Analytical test methods are a core part of product development at Cytiva. Ranging from in process QC methods to functional performance tests for release and to support process and product development, the development and validation of sufficiently sensitive and accurate test methods are critical to enable Cytiva to deliver its new and evolving range of Fibro chromatography products.

What you'll do

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the development and validation of the expanding suite of analytical test methods which are being developed for the Fibro product portfolio. Working with technical SMEs in R&D, as well as product and project managers, the Analytical Methods Manager will be responsible for coordinating the development of these methods, identifying synergies and driving the timely delivery of these methods aligned with the broader project plans for each of the Fibro products under development.

The post holder will develop and utilize a deep understanding of Cytiva's Method Development Lifecycle, which describes the steps needed to take a new method from its conception through to a full validation or release method. The Method Manager will combine their expertise in the Method Development Process, with a high-level technical understanding of the methods under development, in order to manage resources and activities across the project team(s) as well as the wider R&D organization. The role will also therefore entail large elements of project management.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Creating plans and coordinating development of analytical test methods across the Fibro portfolio in accordance with Cytiva's Method Development Lifecycle.
  • Working with project managers, team leaders, validation and QA scientists in order to manage and align required resources and prioritise activities where necessary in order to mitigate bottlenecks
  • Driving timely delivery of analytical test methods to the required state in accordance with project plans
  • Acting as the SME on Cytiva's Method Development Process and providing advice and guidance to the method developers and facilitate support and approval from Validation and QA functions when and as appropriate
  • Contribute to FMEA for individual test methods as well as for the entire analytical package
  • Be a member of each of the Fibro project teams tasked with delivering Fibro products to the market
  • Communicating progress to core project teams and stakeholders

Who you are

  • Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or similar technical background.
  • Proven experience with analytical method development and validation
  • Experienced in use of statistical methods and mathematical modelling
  • Experience with project management and/or team leadership
