This position will provide technical consultancy services to front-line Sales, including major pursuits. Position is in the Technical Advisory Team of Energy Industries UK, with strong focus in the energy transition market, reporting to Studies Tendering and Technical Advisory Manager.

Candidate main responsibilities:

Manages client relationships and must be able to present technical details according to the audience and turn them into a compelling value proposition. This may include simplifying technical details for non-technical personnel.
Is actively involved in opportunity development, pursuits, and bids.
Manages multiple internal interfaces to ensure best practice and solutions and hence maximize benefit for the client and ABB.
Responsible to provide direction to supply chain, to optimize and improve the discounts provided by internal ABBs, and third-party companies on materials.
Responsible for growing and maintaining, an agreed level of revenue via studies and surveys, to position ABB offering with customers.This role has the ability to based remotely anywhere in the UK.

Your responsibilities
  • Delivering your technical knowledge and ABB capabilities to key customers including end users and EPCs. This will include accompanying front-end Sales personnel.
  • Maintaining key customer relationships (End Users and EPCs).
  • Generating and reviewing Electrical Scopes of Supply in compliance with Clients' RFQs.
  • Producing and reviewing engineering hours estimates.
  • Electrical 3rd Party Supplier and Equipment Assessment including working with Supply. Chain Management to produce supplier specifications and review supplier responses.
  • Thought leadership in the delivery and execution methodologies of Electrical opportunities and project delivery.
Your background
  • University degree qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline or have demonstrated substantial experience in this field of technology.
  • Working to Expert Technical Knowledge in a number of the following areas with a self-driven desire to resolve knowledge gaps and build competence in emerging technologies:
  • HV / MV / LV Switchgear, transformers, UPS, and power / control cabling design and installation.
  • Design and engineering of e-houses including interfaces to with Structural, HVAC, Fire and Gas detection, Fire Suppression and Cabling requirements.
  • Requirements for the interfaces to HVAC, Telecoms and Control Systems.
  • Maintenance and Lifecycle knowledge.
  • Areas of other relevant technical expertise could include (but not limited) to MV, LV, UPS, transformers, electrical control systems, and containerized electrical equipment solutions.
  • Knowledge of E-house engineering, installation and commissioning is desirable.
  • Expected demonstrated behaviours include - Safety leadership, integrity, strong communication in both spoken and written English, and the ability to present to and build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel (including international) is expected, where necessary, to support business objectives. Around 10% of international travel per year.
