Apprentice Outdoor Learning Instructor

Looking for a rewarding role where you can help young people build skills for life, or simply love outdoor activities and want to share your passion and inspire others?

During a two year apprenticeship at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre you will gain experience working with a variety of groups and individuals, and learn how to instruct a wide range of outdoor activities from climbing and canoeing, to bushcraft and environmental education.

No previous experience is required, but candidates should:

  • enjoy working with young people
  • be able to communicate effectively
  • be willing to learn
  • be prepared to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, and be outside in all weathers
  • have a minimum of grade C/4 (or equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths; or be willing to complete relevant functional skills
  • be over 18 by 1 December 2024
  • have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake a full enhanced DBS check
