Technology Teacher would suit ECT or experienced- preferred specialism in Design and Technology - TLR available for the right candidate
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Technology Teacher who is able to provide a good quality of classroom teaching that will inspire students to achieve their best. The successful candidate would be part of the Science and Technology Teaching and Learning Area, a highly successful and very popular area of the school.
St Mary's CE High School is one of three church secondary schools in Hertfordshire, all of which are within the Diocese of St Albans. The school is well recognised in the local community for its high-quality provision and outstanding inclusion agenda.
Pupils live up to leaders' expectations of their behaviour. Pupils follow the well-established routines in lessons and usually focus on learning.

St Mary's is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake online safeguarding training and all positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Two references will be sought for every candidate that is called for interview. St Mary's is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
The Governors of St Mary's will make an additional recruitment payment to appointed teachers who apply direct to the school (i.e. not through an agency/third party).
Teaching Apprenticeships
There is also an opportunity for those with a good degree to complete their teaching qualification (PGCE) as 'on the job' training. Candidates would be employed as an unqualified teacher whilst completing a teaching apprenticeship to gain their qualification. Professional support in school will be provided by a subject mentor as well as from our Lead Teacher team.
This is a fabulous opportunity to get into teaching whilst working at the same time.
Please note that safeguarding students of the School is a priority. All appointments to posts in the School are made through stringent adherence to the requirements of 'Keeping Children safe in Education'. As there is a high degree of contact with children an enhanced disclosure will be sought for this post through the Criminal Records Bureau as part of pre-employment checks.
