Job Description: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Cost Engineer for a contract position to join our dynamic team at AWE. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for our complex projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Monitor and track project costs against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare cost reports, financial summaries, and presentations for project managers and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost control and efficient resource allocation.
  • Conduct cost risk analysis and support contingency planning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost control procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in project reviews and provide financial input and advice.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  • Perform forecasting and receipting activities.
  • Utilize NEC (New Engineering Contract) for contract management and cost control.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must possess current SC (Security Check) Clearance.
  • Professional certification in Cost Engineering (e.g., AACE, ICEAA) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in cost engineering, cost estimation, and financial analysis within a complex project environment.
  • Project Management Qualifications
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and financial modeling tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with NEC contracts and related cost control methodologies.
  • Experience in forecasting and receipting activities.
