Could you be the Industrial Quality Engineer to work on a 12 month fixed term contract to assist in all IQ activities from Workstation Audits, FMEA's / Control Plans to gathering and presenting CONQ (Cost of Non Quality)?

Alstom Engineering Services Ltd division is a highly skilled electronic manufacturing plant cover all infrastructure signalling and train control projects with a large portfolio of products including SMart IO. This is an exciting time to join a growing division giving opportunities to grow and further your development within the rail industry with an initial 12 month contract.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge by being based at Alstom Systems, Signalling & Infrastructure (SS&I) Division site at Plymouth and apply your Industrial Quality Engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll report to James Matthews (Site Industrial Quality Manager), and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Quality Engineering team in Alstom UK&I.

Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business contributing into managing Industrial Quality activities, perform inspections of subassemblies or finished ALSTOM products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements. The opportunity offers significant opportunity for career growth.

We'll look to you for:

  • Manage Industrial Quality activities in relevant workshop (IQ team + process + KPI).
  • Stop the production in case of a defect which justifies mandatory rework.
  • Participate or delegate customer joint Inspections.
  • Deputise for IQM when required
  • Participate to process FMEA definition.
  • Build, implement & regularly update Quality Control Plans with REX of previous project execution.
  • Perform Line Quality Animation with cross function team.
  • Manage problem solving.
  • Records inspection results in the industrial tools as required & performed follow-up.
  • Perform first characterization & manage NCR's for non-compliant products for internal responsibility.
  • Have ability to accepts or reject products as defined.
  • Support manufacturing teams regarding the self-inspection, delegation of control (Training, audit, ...) & Position Quality Animation with EPU manager.

  • Processes knowledge on Quality and at industrial level.
  • Management experience (for PIQ manager).

Desirable:

  • 5 years experiences in Industrial.
  • Project management or equivalent.
  • Industrial Manufacturing PCB experience
