We are looking for an experienced Groundworks Contracts Manager to join a small luxury housebuilder in Kings Lynn.

This will be a 12 week temporary to permanent contract. The role will lead to a permanent position after a period of temporary work.

Your role as a Contracts Manager will be to ensure projects are delivered safely, within budget, and to agreed standards. This includes organizing and managing all plant, labor, and materials on sites under your control, as well as supporting the board in developing new clients and maintaining service to existing clients to secure the long-term future of the company.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  1. Arrange adequate resources for project delivery, safety, and standards of work.
  2. Monitor safety, liaising with directors, the health and safety team, and site staff as required.
  3. Monitor the competence of site and sub-contractors in line with policies and procedures on safety, welfare, and environment.
  4. Oversee all aspects of site management on your assigned sites, regularly visiting to inspect, offer support, and adhere to agreed program/quality and building regulations.
  5. Manage the overall job performance.
  6. Work with the commercial team on cost advice, unexpected works, and understand the tender and agreed standards.
  7. Provide resources to enable customer care issues to be resolved effectively.
  8. Manage effective communication between site and office.
  9. Liaise with client's staff to provide effective delivery of projects and develop long-lasting relationships.
  10. Work to develop, mentor, and train others.
Requirements:

  1. The ideal candidate will have experience in the groundworks and civil engineering industry in a similar role.
  2. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and organizational abilities.
  3. Experience in a Contracts Manager position in the housing sector, with good knowledge of groundworks.
  4. Effective oral and written skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  6. Very strong organizational skills.
  7. Basic computer knowledge.
  8. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  9. Reliable and diplomatic.
  10. Clean driving license.
  11. Self-motivated.
  12. General education equivalent to 5+ GCSE's grades A-C or 5-9.
  13. Building related competency / Project Management Certificate is desirable.
  14. HNC or Degree in civil engineering or structural engineering, construction management, or project management is desirable.
  15. Health & safety on construction sites – Qualification recognised.
  16. Knowledge of plant and material relevant to groundworks.
