Curriculum Leader

Stirling, Stirling, United Kingdom Sistema Scotland Full time

This is an opportunity to join Sistema Scotland as part of a dynamic team, delivering a visionary, socially driven music programme.

You will work closely with the Director of Music and other Curriculum Leaders to promote best practice in the delivery and development of the Big Noise Woodwind, Brass & Percussion curriculum, alongside supporting Woodwind, Brass & Percussion colleagues in each of our Big Noise centres.

Alongside curriculum development, you will be part of a team in your local Big Noise centre who work with children from pre-school, primary school, secondary school and adults.

You will have experience and success in taking on leadership roles and responsibilities, including providing feedback to musicians/teachers. You will also be educated to degree level or equivalent qualification and have professional performing experience.

Working with large and varied groups of children and young people is essential, along with a track record of success in teaching children and young people on your specialist instrument.

You will also have a belief in the benefits that a social programme such as Big Noise/Sistema Scotland can have.

You will have experience of positive engagement in the creation and development of curriculum for children and be up to date with current educational practice as well as knowledge of current issues regarding music, community development and/or education in Scotland.

You will also have a working knowledge of appropriate pedagogic approaches relevant to your area of expertise.

This post is offered on a permanent, all year-round basis, working 4 days (28 hours) per week, Monday to Thursday.

The post can be based in either our Big Noise Govanhill (Glasgow) or Big Noise (Douglas) centres, but travel will be required between all centres.
