The Senior Manager, International Transportation Procurement will report into the Director, International Transportation Procurement. The Senior Manager has procurement responsibilities within the International Transportation category, supporting the global movement of goods from manufacturing sites to GSK markets. The role interacts with senior stakeholders in logistics and is a part of a team that directly covers $200M USD.

This role would suit an individual from a Procurement Consultancy background.

Additionally, the role:

  • Supports strategic sourcing strategies for a defined portfolio
  • Requires high cultural awareness
  • Supports and leads negotiations
  • Delivers Procurement strategy across portfolio or Region/Sub-Region
  • Creates and implements Procurement initiatives/strategies which improve quality of service and supply and produce significant cost savings across business units or supply networks
  • Knows and utilizes complex business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Understands the importance of business requirements and partners with the customer group to deliver relevant strategic procurement solutions
  • Identifies and presents significant external supplier and market knowledge

  • Help manage $200M USD by creating and executing comprehensive global sourcing strategies, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset
  • Build strategic relationships with a network of senior GSK global stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement's value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Create compelling business cases for change and obtain approval to execute from GSK [business area] and/or other support functions (Finance, HR) senior management, and to agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted
  • Deliver global benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost, and innovation
  • Engage stakeholders, Finance and other relevant functions in the sourcing strategy delivery and execution
  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships Ensure BU considerations are accounted for in supplier relationships.
  • Ensure appropriate communication strategy is in place and in use within the relevant Procurement and business customer networks

  • Project and change management experience
  • Experience with tools for executing sourcing strategies
  • Experience managing the delivery of projects and with end-to-end service / operations management
  • Analytical mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree OR MBA
  • Background in a Pharmaceutical organisation
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of market drivers effecting category; strong commitment to keeping abreast of trends
