Jodrell Bank, Cheshire East, United Kingdom University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion Full time

The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for an experienced academic to deliver specialist teaching and academic guidance to students within our Product Programme at London College of Fashion (LCF).

You will assume responsibility for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship within the Programme, with a particular focus on BA Fashion Sportswear. Based in the School of Design and Technology, this unique course considers how sport, science, new technologies, fashion trends and cultural contexts influence fashion retail, equipping our students with the skills and expertise to begin a career in this evolving industry.

As a Lecturer, you'll be required to deliver seminars, workshops and practical demonstrations on the process of creative and innovative design, engaging your students through innovative and inspiring teaching.

You will expand the capacity of the course design to meet the needs of the rapidly changing industry for menswear, womenswear and sportswear products. You'll also facilitate pedagogic and curriculum development that challenges the canon of fashion garment design and sportswear, keeping the curriculum at the forefront of creative and professional practice.

About you

You will need an undergraduate degree in fashion design or an associated subject, along with experience of teaching and assessment in a Higher Education environment or the equivalent relevant experience.

You will also provide evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of fashion design activity and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University.

Excellent communication, planning, organisational and teamwork skills will also be essential for success in this role.

We are UAL
