About the Role

You will plan and implement the strategy and delivery of learning needs across Swiss Re L&H's global Costing, UW and Claims Community. To do this, you will lead a virtual team across these three disciplines, coordinating and curating content for all eight of our global Market Units. You will work closely with the Swiss Re Group's Underwriting Academy and contribute to the Global UW Excellence initiative. You will guide the business on how to create impact with our L&D strategy and run an upskilling program to gain a competitive edge. You will be responsible for the administration and daily operations of the program, until you recruit a colleague to support you (tbc). The role involves the following duties: Develop and execute the UW Excellence strategy successfully;

• Conduct a thorough review of our L&H costing, underwriting and claims learning needs, find out where there are proficiency gaps, and design learning solutions with your key partners.

• Curate content that matches the market and industry sector, as well as use new and modern learning methods, ensuring subject matter experts provide top-quality content.

• Identify the financial investment required for initiatives and prepare persuasive business cases to obtain funding approval.

• Manage communications to ensure that colleagues take ownership of their own L&D needs with the help of their line mangers.

Please be aware that the role is temporary for 12 months.

About the Team

You will initially report to the Head Underwriting & Claims Innovation & Analytics and be a member of the Global UW, Claims and R&D Team. Like many of our global roles within the team, you will maintain a network with relevant partners, especially Market Unit Champions, while also leading a virtual team of colleagues across Costing, Underwriting and Claims. Furthermore, you will promote a learning culture with the UW Leadership teams and Swiss Re Group UW Academy.

About You

You are an outstanding, self-driven and independent L&H professional with 8+ years of experience and exposure to Costing, Claims and/or Underwriting functions within the re/insurance industry.

You have excellent communications skills, ranging from developing effective communications programs to building long-term, professional relationships.

You can leverage your knowledge and experience to assess organisational L&D needs, while showing your enthusiasm for aligning them with an organisation's strategy and objectives. Additional key skills / knowledge include:

• Understanding of the Life & Health industry and how Costing, Underwriting and Claims functions work together You have superb project management / organisational skills with a strong focus on execution.

• You enjoy working in a dynamic and diverse environment and can handle uncertainty.

• You build trust and relationships quickly in a complex stakeholder environment.

• Qualification: University degree or similar

• Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential; additional languages considered a plus.
