37 Hours per week, to include 7pm finishes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Salon Coordinator to join The Bedford College group at our Hair and Beauty Department.
As a Salon Coordinator you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Ensuring the assessments for Hair & Beauty students are planned and delivered as authentic assessments on outside clients
- Managing stock
- Being responsible for commercial takings and cashing up procedures within the commercial salon
- Assisting lecturers in the Hair and Beauty salon to supervise and instruct learners, in order to ensure improved learner success, progression and learner satisfaction
- Promoting salon services to perspective clients through the use of social media.
About you:
Essential
- Good problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to instruct and demonstrate to group of learners and individuals in the relevant programme
- Ability to assess the outcomes of learning and learning achievements
- Good IT skills
Desirable
- Demonstrate an understanding of the current and future curriculum developments within own specialist area
- Experience in the role of practical instruction and demonstrate and assessment to groups and individual learners
- Experience of professional salon supervision
- Experience with using databased systems
- Possess an NVQ Level 3 in Hair & Beauty or equivalent qualification
- Willing to work towards or possess a Learning and Development Assessor Award
