The Global Gas business within KM&T specializes in trading LNG, Natural Gas, Power and Renewables. Primarily trading from London and Geneva, this role provides the incumbent with a unique opportunity to join this dynamic and ever-changing business.

The position provides a unique opportunity to gain experience across a number of middle office roles including Market Risk, Product Control, Trade Support and Operations. The incumbent will play an active finance role within Koch Minerals & Trading, working closely with European Power, Natural Gas and LNG traders and fellow CFO & Risk team members in order to support existing business and new initiatives. The role will require a strong hands-on focus on the production of daily risk and P&L reports, on active position & trade monitoring & analysis and on enhancing the team's processes.

What You Will Do In Your Role

Reporting, Analysis & Operations

  • Independent assessment and reporting of P&L including PL attribution & challenging traders on their own assessments.
  • Involvement in development of reporting tools i.e. PL attribution, fx exposure, position management.
  • Develop insightful and value-added analysis for commercial and senior management decision making & reporting.

Control Environment

  • Design, improve, and monitor robust control processes, workflows, and checks.
  • Reference Data set up and validation including curve reviews.
  • Ensuring completeness, timeliness and accuracy of trade capture.
  • Reconciliation of month-end general ledger P&L to trading risk system P&L.
  • Prepare month end balance sheet/inventory reconciliations and business costings.
  • Ensuring compliance with control policies and trading standards including development and management of key business metrics.

Business Development and Improvements

  • Embrace new innovations and technology to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Generate ideas / frame experiments for new organisational and commercial initiatives.
  • Partner the front office focussing on position and P&L & risk reporting, as well as other ad hoc analytical requests.
  • Co-ordinating & supporting projects targeting business expansion into new structures, products, commodities or geographies or business improvements.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • More than a year of Commodities Trading Middle Office work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering.
  • Significant proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Diligence and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the role and the market.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Coding ability/programming languages (Python, R, SQL) would be advantageous.
  • Experience with PowerBI is beneficial.
