Arts Council England is looking for a skilled and versatile Communications Officer to work in this role on a permanent basis. If you have demonstrable experience handling media enquiries in a busy environment and communicating complex issues to a wide range of audiences, we would love to hear from you.

To thrive in this London based Communication Officer role, you should have a good understanding of how media, including print, broadcast, online, and other emerging new media, operate. An informed awareness of the news agenda will also help the right candidate to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day work will be the development and delivery of communication plans and projects. It will be a varied role that will work closely with the digital, media, stakeholder and internal communication team.You will produce and develop communication plans to support our National Communication strategy.As part of that project work you will assist the Advocacy and Communications team to manage, evaluate and assess the impact and delivery of projects within our overall communications strategy and helping to instigate appropriate change and response to that evaluation. Provide creative ideas in implementation of the projects you work on. Carry out hands-on editorial work including drafting content or various channels and audiences.Confidently advocate for the Arts Council with external stakeholders using your knowledge of public affairs and stakeholder engagement. Work on the delivery and implementation of digital and print materials, working with multiple stakeholders including staff and arts sector partners across the subsidised, commercial and voluntary sectors, local and national government. Use your technical skills to manage the content of our digital channels: sourcing and writing online news stories and case studies, proofing copy, image editing, statistical reporting, commissioning external digital and print suppliers and ensuring that work is completed on time, to the highest standards, and on budget. You will contribute to a positive working culture in the organisation by taking a proactive approach to learning, responding to change, inclusive practice, and environmental responsibility. You will reflect the Nolan Principles of Public Life and the Arts Council's values with a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
