We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our Adult Mental Health Team in Huntingdon and Fenland Locality as a Senior Social Worker, working with Adults aged The team is based at Newton Centre, Huntingdon.

These roles offer a chance to work in parts of Cambridgeshire with a diverse population and many opportunities and challenges. There will also be the opportunity to develop a supervisory role.

What will you be doing?

The main duties of the role include:

  • Working with adults aged 18-64 who have a variety of mental health needs, many of whom will be known to secondary mental health services (including specialist services and forensic services).
  • Working creatively with cases of complexity (including safeguarding), alongside completing assessments and reviews under the Care Act.
  • Practicing as an AMHP (or complete training to become one).
  • Opportunities to supervise others and gain the Practice Educator qualification.
  • Offering social work expertise to Social Workers and health colleagues.
  • Working in partnership with other agencies and frequently working in a multi-disciplinary setting (including ward liaison).

You will also be expected (and supported) to develop your knowledge and skills in reflective practice, with an emphasis on social work models in the mental health context.

You must:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
  • Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently
