London, Greater London, United Kingdom UCL Full time

About us

The Dementia Research Centre is a hub for clinical research into various forms of dementia. As well as clinical studies and trials in Alzheimer's disease and other common causes of dementia, we have particular expertise in young onset, inherited and unusual dementias. Our work focuses on identifying and understanding the disease processes that cause dementia, the factors that influence these disease processes, and how best to support people with dementia and their families.

ADAPT (Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and plasma phospho-tau217) is a multi-centre study that aims to establish the utility of a blood-based biomarker for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in patients in the UK.

About the role

We are seeking a Research Coordinator to organise the ADAPT study team and undertake associated data management, as well as assist in managing the Wolfson CSF biomarker study, an ongoing sample collection which feeds into ADAPT stages 1 and 2. You will be willing to take on similar roles in other appropriate studies at the DRC as discussed with your line management team.

You will manage scheduling and coordination of study teams from multiple departments, which includes running team meetings, generating all necessary paperwork to keep the team informed, coordinating and participating in sample transport, managing a consumables budget and participant expenses, and monitoring data completeness. You will be expected to gather and analyse information (for example, finance information or team capacity) from standard sources and look for trends or patterns in that information. When problems arise, you will use initiative and creativity to address those problems.

An honorary contract will be sought from UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, for which a DBS check will be required.

The role is available immediately and is funded by a grant from Alzheimer's Research UK for one year in the first instance.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20-80% on site.

For a full job description and to apply for this role please visit UCL's online recruitment portal and search using vacancy reference B

About you

You will be enthusiastic, highly organised, and detail-oriented with excellent people skills and an Honours degree (minimum 2:1) in a science subject. The ability to gather and analyse information from standard sources, and to recognise and interpret patterns that arise from that information, is also essential for this role.

What we offer

As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits; visit to find out more.

We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible, and job share basis wherever possible.

This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff.
