At Riverston, we recognise that many families who have children with special educational needs have not necessarily had a positive experience of mainstream education, so we are committed to providing a nurturing, welcoming environment that supports the whole family. Students' happiness and future success, in whatever form this takes.
We cater for secondary school students with a wide range of needs from high functioning autism to social, emotional and mental health needs. We offer support from on-site therapists and intervention services to ensure that children's Education, Health and Care Plan targets are achieved. Our special education programmes offer pathways to success in small class sizes for a more personal approach. All of our staff are highly skilled with the very best up-to-date training in an ever-evolving field. We are committed to include, innovate and inspire all of our students to success.

Summary of the Role
You will be a dynamic and highly motivated teacher who is committed to achieving academic excellence and high classroom standards. The successful candidate will be part of the school's SEND department ensuring the highest standards of learning, teaching and achievement for pupils. You will be a highly committed individual, who demonstrates high levels of resilience and emotional intelligence. You will be passionate about your role and have a resolve to make a real difference to pupils' lives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for outstanding career development as well as personal growth through both their commitment to the role and innovation.
Safeguarding
The post-holder is responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people for whom they are responsible, or with whom they come into contact, and will adhere to and ensure compliance with the School's Safeguarding (Child Protection) Policy at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the post the post-holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the School s/he must report any concerns to the School's Designated Safeguarding Lead or to the Headteacher.
