We are currently working with BCP Council, who are searching for an Interim Commissioning Children's Manager to join them. They are dedicated to improving the lives of children, young people, and families within the community.
Your new role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Interim Commissioning Children's Manager to lead the children's services commissioning team. This is a pivotal role responsible for developing and implementing strategies that deliver high-quality, cost-effective services for children and young people. You will be supporting the development and implementation of commissioning plans that address sufficiency issues within SEND and Alternative Provision. Your new role requires joint working and collaboration with the wider commissioning and procurement team, whilst also considering wider partnerships across the Council, NHS, independent sector and voluntary and community sector.
What you'll need to succeed
- Knowledge of key national issues & programmes relevant to client group and specified outcome/service area
- Experience of commissioning projects including undertaking needs assessment for commissioning purposes, performance management and monitoring and review reporting, with a focus on children's services
- Experience of using management information, needs assessment for commissioning, performance management, and monitoring and review reporting.
- Experience of service development, options appraisal and system change using demonstrable programme management skills, including financial management.
- Experience of partnership working across the independent, voluntary, and statutory sectors and negotiating contracts
