Allianz Personal have a new opportunity for a Data Governance Analyst covering our office in Bournemouth

We are transforming our data landscape through the delivery of our Data Strategy. Underpinning this is the core Azure Data Platform, which the Data Platform team are responsible for designing, building and maintaining. As a Data Governance Analyst, you will be a key player in ensuring data consistency, compliance and strategic alignment.

The job holder will take responsibility in developing and enforcing data governance policies and ensuring compliance with regulatory and group data standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking team dedicated to optimising data management processes and driving strategic business insights. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, eager to learn and keeps them updated on industry trends.

The Data Governance Analyst will work with business stakeholders, BI CoE, Data Science, and wider data teams to deliver a robust data governance program to improve data quality across the organisation that is focused on delivering business value and aligning to the wider prioritisation of Data Strategy.

  • Defining and maintaining data ownership for our core data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to standardize terminology using business glossary that is harmonized with global business glossary.
  • Prepare material for agreed forums and relevant working groups, including pack collations and governance (minutes, actions, decisions)
  • Curate and maintain a comprehensive metadata repository or data catalogue. Document data definitions, lineage and relationships.
  • Align data governance program to enterprise data strategy.
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR)
  • Identify and address data risks related to privacy, security and compliance.
  • Trace data flows across systems to assess the impact of changes, and maintain data lineage documentation
  • Work closely with data owners, stewards, BICoE, IT teams and business unites to promote data governance best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions to raise awareness about data governance principles.
  • Configure metadata and data lineage tools.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive adoption.
