Applications are invited for 2 new substantive Consultant Haematologist posts for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GG&C), who will join the 2 current consultants in providing haemostasis and thrombosis (H&T) services, both to GG&C and the West of Scotland.

We are looking for motivated individuals to join this expanding team to support the ongoing development of clinical and laboratory services in H&T and contribute to our active clinical trials portfolio. The successful applicants will be based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI), to provide non-malignant haematology services to GRI, and haemophilia services to the West of Scotland. These new full-time consultant posts will form part of a 6.5 WTE consultant team at GRI, to meet outpatient, day case, consultative and laboratory commitments.

On-call responsibility will be at GRI and Golden Jubilee National Hospital (GJNH) [remote, non-attending for GJNH] and will be a maximum frequency of 1 in 6 for this post.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis, but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time.

All newly appointed consultants will initially be offered a minimum of one Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) which includes CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning and management meetings. One additional non DCC can be negotiated and agreed between the successful candidate and management, depending on the time required to support professional activities and the needs of the service.
