We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Service to lead our inspiring and friendly Devon and Cornwall accommodation service teams. Our housing services offer a supportive home environment that fosters greater independence and recovery, helping residents maintain their tenancy and access social activities, further education, employment, and training.

Overview of the role:

As the Head of Accommodation Services, you will be a key member of the Leadership Group, overseeing a cluster of housing services, including CQC registered services. Reporting to the Director of Accommodation Services and operating within our Operations Directorate, you will lead our Service Managers in delivering high-quality, safe, and person-centred care, aligned with contractual requirements. Your primary focus will be on achieving excellent outcomes for the people we serve. You will also collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to develop and expand our service offerings.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Leadership and Culture: Foster a service culture that embodies Rethink Cares and reflects the values of Understanding, Expertise, Commitment, Hope, Passion, and Openness.
  • Collaborative Work: Work proactively and collaboratively with others, bringing creativity, adaptability, and positive enthusiasm.
  • Management Experience: Extensive experience managing complex social care/NHS service contracts in housing services, with a strong understanding of good housing management practices.
  • Service Implementation: Skilled in mobilising, transitioning, and implementing large-scale new services.
  • Performance Management: Proven track record of high-performance management in line with organisational expectations.
  • Sector Experience: Experience in the care sector, with the ability to represent the Charity credibly to commissioners and other partners.
  • Team Leadership: Experience leading and managing a dispersed team across multiple sites.
  • Budget Management: Proficiency in developing and managing budgets effectively.
  • People Management Skills: Strong people management skills, with the ability to persuade and communicate effectively to gain commitment, support, respect, trust, and confidence.
