Our Community

We are committed to supporting young people to overcome the barriers that poverty and social exclusion create, ensuring that all students are able to achieve their full potential. This has inspired us to build up a broad network of partnerships, incubating and invigorating student experience, opportunity, drive and success.

There should be no barriers to a child's future and society should, and can, be a level playing field. Aspiring for this to be reality we promise to:

• Emphasise high quality subject teaching, reinforced by excellent support for learning and intervention.

• Deliver inclusion services that assist personal development.

• Provide excellent pastoral care so no student goes unsupported.

• Continually develop strong leadership and have high levels of expertise in education.

The East London Teaching School Hub

Mulberry School for Girls was delighted to be designated by the Department of Education as the lead school for Hackney and Tower Hamlets Teaching School Hub (TSH) in February 2021 and has been redesignated for a further 4 years

There are no great schools without great teachers, and it is the role of Teaching School Hubs to provide the best quality professional development so teachers can be their very best

Teaching School Hubs have five core responsibilities:

1. Delivery of Initial teacher training (ITT)

2. ITT strategic role: supporting schools to engage with ITT

3. Delivery of the Early Career Framework (ECF)

4. Delivery of new and revised National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)

5. Providing Appropriate Body (AB) services for Early Career Teachers

Over the last three years we have embarked upon an exciting start-up and rapid growth phase to ensure that we realise our ambition to create a collegiate professional learning community. To date, we have supported over 900 Early Career Teachers and their mentors training on the Early Career Framework Full Induction Programme with us and over 590 teachers and leaders on our National Professional Qualification programmes. We have teachers and leaders from 88% Tower Hamlets and Hackney schools learning with us and colleagues from a further 238 schools outside our designated region engaging with our programmes. We are working in partnership with four strategic local partners to deliver our Full Induction Programme and have over thirty facilitators from a range of local Hackney and Tower Hamlets schools collaborating with us to deliver our programmes. We also are the Appropriate Body for 530 ECTs supporting them with their two-year induction. We are really excited about what the next four years holds.

The Trust also has its own accredited ITT provision, Mulberry College of Teaching, so there are opportunities for the team to be involved in this exciting new project. We will be training our first cohort of beginning Secondary English teachers from September 2024.

We've got a lot of good news to celebrate and share, and we have a lot of programmes running which require careful coordination to ensure everyone working and training with us has the best quality experience. As a result, you will be joining the ELTSH team at an exciting and crucial time for our next stage of development and growth.

What we're looking for

We are keen to hear from people across a wide variety of personal and professional backgrounds, with a core focus in the following areas:

Great communication skills, providing a warm, friendly and professional experience for all participants and external stakeholders you work with.

A deep understanding of the importance of handling data sensitively and confidentially, and a thorough knowledge of GDPR compliance.

Keen attention to detail, with an ability to quickly spot anomalies in data sets and solve issues effectively.

Extensive experience with Excel spreadsheets, specifically around setting up complex formulas so that the data we use is robust, accurate and quick and easy to manipulate for a range of reporting purposes.

A high-degree of computer literacy, with experience of using a range of Microsoft packages, and of using and maintaining a database.

An appreciation of how important it is for all forms of communication to be accurate and of the highest quality, as these will often be used by potential participants to form their first impressions of the organisation.

An adaptive working style, with an ability to work with a broad range of internal stakeholders including senior leadership and programme coordination teams.

Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, with enthusiasm, speed and accuracy.

An ability to learn, retain and apply new knowledge and keep up-to-date with a quickly evolving national policy landscape.
