About this opportunity

The Outdoor & Leisure team at Westmorland and Furness Council are looking for an enthusiastic person as a Sports Activities Officer. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operation of Barrow All-weather pitches, including working with participants to develop a league programme. Through active partnership and good understanding of football and outdoor activities the post holder will work with the community to increase participation through the engaging with clubs, schools, and groups to use the 3G All-weather pitches to maximum capacity. The post holder will work closely with Westmorland and Furness leisure services and strategic partners to develop a facility which supports our communities through improving physical activity, social interaction, and support mental well-being.

The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of the developing Leisure and Wellbeing strategy and engage with existing and new partners, including those from the private, public and voluntary sector and listening to our existing customers and communities.
