Our Data Insight team provide transport data services across the West Midlands Combined Authority and our partners. We collect, manage, report, analyse and visualise data. We provide access to data on things like traffic, public transport passenger counts, road traffic collisions, congestion, and spatial planning. We help people to understand how changes to the region might affect transport.
As a Data Coordinator, you will support the Data Insight Service to collect, chase and manage data provided by internal and external partners. This data is essential to monitor performance, manage upcoming scheme communications and update the transport modelling and forecasting. This role will give you exposure to a variety of uses of data including traffic surveys and cordon counts, land use planning, Transport for West Midland's capital transport infrastructure projects and monitoring of the City Regional Sustainable Transport Settlement plan. This role will be the single point of contact for stakeholders and will ensure that the Data Insight team follow a structured process to improve the quality of the services we provide.
Working within a collaborative team, this role comes with progression and provides a gateway into other domains of data management. The Data Insight team are all about knowledge sharing and upskilling their team, and this opportunity will provide you with regular training sessions, the opportunity to attend annual conferences to learn more about the industry and work closely with STEM ambassadors.

- Organise and manage ad-hoc data quality audits and reconciliation exercises
- Responsible for the timely and accurate setup of data, acting as a data specialist promoting data quality and efficient data practices
- Contribute to the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders within the business
- Assist in the collection of key metrics into the reporting database and check for anomalies
- Comply with all policies and procedures
- Sound understanding of data quality controls and processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work in a structured method
- Ability to strongly communicate with stakeholders
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with the wider team
- Keen problem solver
- Ability to manage own workload, effectively prioritise and work to deadlines with minimum supervision
- Proficient across MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel Skills

However, we encourage individuals who are passionate about the role and want to make a difference to still apply. We value potential and encourage applicants to highlight their skills, including transferable ones, even if they don't fit the traditional "perfect candidate" mould.
We gladly consider part-time, flexible, and job share arrangements, so please don't let these factors deter you from applying. If your values align with ours and you are dedicated to working towards a future that we can all be proud of, we would love to hear from you.
