Required Experience and Knowledge Must Have

Minimum Nebosh Diploma in Health & Safety managementEnvironmental qualification is MandatoryUnderstand the business and site stakeholder requirements.Practical knowledge of current good practice in EHS management, including: Assessment & control of relevant risks (incl. physical & mental health risks).EHS management systems and business processes, including ISO 45001 & ISO 14001H&S promotion beyond the workplace.Experience of: Driving behavioural change and positive safety cultureLeading teams & developing people.EHS Legal compliance. Functional competencies: Change management & communication.Continuous improvement & problem-solving techniques.Risk assessment and management including hierarchy of control methodologyCoaching & training.Management system and EHS observational auditing.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunicate a compelling visionArticulate the business case for EHS excellence, linked to the comapanies values & priorities.Develop a common understanding of what excellence looks like.Risk managementEnsure risk profile of the site is documented through competent assessmentEnsure action plans to reduce risk are in line with hierarchy of control methodologyDevelop site strategies & plans aligned with the companies global strategyFacilitate development of a site strategy and action plan that reflects the risk profile and is consistent with Group strategy.Ensure site develops and implements EHS plans to address their most significant risks & opportunities.Ensure EHS Goals and Objectives are embedded in the job description/ expectations of each employee in the organization.Enhance leadership competenciesTrain & coach first and second line leadership teams to enable them to effectively lead & manage EHS within their areas of responsibility.Ensure an effective EHS on boarding program for all who enter and work on the siteProvide expert adviceAdvise site on improving performance, eg on managing key risks, developing business processes, and creating a EHS culture.Manage EHS site investment proposals to ensure effective prioritisation of resources.Coach analyses of incidents to ensure effective learning and appropriate action planningShare-in & share-outIdentify and communicate learnings & good practices from inside & outside the site.Ensure key information from Head of Safety is cascaded through the siteCreate pride in achievements to help motivate further improvement.Analyse performance dataPut in place metrics & business processes, and analyse site data to identify risks, performance trends & opportunities.Monitor progress on the site on legal compliance, risk management, capability building, and culture development.
