**Role Responsibilities include**: Monitor the Hospital’s information handling activities to ensure compliance with law and guidance. Lead on IG risk identification and management, work closely with the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) in managing IG risk. Lead the Information Governance Committee and all IG Task and Finish or Subgroups. Extract, analyse, interpret, prepare, produce and deliver a variety of IG reports and action plans, presenting to the HMB, Information Governance Committee and other Boards/Committees as required.

Complete the Organisation’s annual IG assessment, collate evidence and action plans, and update as required. Lead on IG audits to ensure that IG policies and procedures are being adhered to. Provide a high-level outcome report to include assessment and evaluations of the Organisation's performance against KPIs, carrying out trend analysis and producing findings and recommendations. Develop and implement a communications plan to make the public aware of their rights under GDPR, Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Ensuring the public are aware of their rights under GDPR considering all requests with consistency and diplomacy. Lead on the Organisation’s recognition of and response to upholding individuals’ rights under data protection legislation. Lead on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), devising and reviewing the process and templates, analysing, risk assessing, identifying mitigating actions, negotiating with staff and 3rd party companies on required amendments to data ownership and other contentious issues, and following approval processes. Escalate concerns as required to Data Protection Officer.

Ensure that an annual assessment of the Organisation’s performance against the standards in the IG Toolkit is completed. Ensure that an IG plan is in place for each IG Toolkit requirement to enable improvements to be made against the assessment. Qualifications, professional experience skills and knowledge Expert/specialist knowledge in managing IG arrangements to ensure that the organisation has a managed and coordinated approach to information governance in line with statutory and local regulations and guidance.
