The Associates are looking for a Technical specialist to undertake a perm role in a business that is starting a 5 year roadmap for the business with a strong focus on building the cloud based services for the business.

As the Technical Specialist you will be responsible for the implementation of the Cloud Infrastructure (primarily AWS) infrastructure from VPCs/VNETs to containers and automation. You will help the client enhance its cloud capabilities and transform their fledgling cloud infrastructure.

The Technical Specialist will work closely with the DevOps Engineers and Technical Architect, to manage the implementation and automation of cloud designs. They have just implemented a 'cloud first' strategy with 'automation as default'. They are looking to implement new cloud engineering techniques, ideas, tools and products.

The role will require outstanding Cloud skills, with excellent knowledge of on-premise system that integrate with Cloud environments. Who will be able to identify the best tools to complete project deliverables. Flexibility of working hours will be required as there may be out of hours' work. The Technical Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of our Cloud Infrastructure (primarily AWS) infrastructure from VPCs/VNETs to containers and automation. Helping the client enhance its cloud capabilities and transform their fledgling cloud infrastructure.

As the Technical Specialist you will be working within the project area. The Technical Specialist will require a strong knowledge in the planning, delivery and governance of cloud projects. With a proven background in designing, building and integrating cloud (AWS & Azure) and virtualization (VMWare) environments.

Experience of best practices in PaaS, IaaS, networking, authentication, security and other cloud technologies. Strong on-premise experience with systems that integrate with the Cloud environments – this could include ADFS, Databases, networking, PowerBI,... etc. As this is a transformation journey for the client, they require a specialist who is a strong generalist across all cloud technologies with proven technical delivery experience.

Review High Level Design's, implement them, fully document (e.g. Detailed Level Design & Runbook) and transition to BAU support teams. Implementing to best practice with an understanding of costs of solutions and subsequent recommendations (e.g. DynamoDB vs. RDS).

The skills you should be able to add include;

The ability to multi-task in an agile environment.Excellent Communication skills – verbal and written.Excellent documentation skills (e.g. DLD's & Runbook's).Cloud environments (AWS & Azure).Strong scripting skills for Infrastructure as Code (e.g. PowerShell, Terraform... etc.).Cloud native tools and environments (AWS & Azure).Cloud security.Strong understanding of Agile development concepts.Extensive technical experience in supporting/deploying cloud solutions.DevOps - Automation, Orchestration and Analytics.Automation and IAC tools (e.g. CloudFormation or Terraform).Ability to complete deep analysis, document options and recommendations.On-premise systems that integrate with Cloud environments (e.g. ADFS).CI/CD tooling (Jenkins). This role offers plenty of scope for personal input and will be a key role in ensuring the development and grow of the company's cloud offerings are robust and built following best practise.
