About the Role: Assistant Rugby Coach

As an Assistant Rugby Coach, you will play a crucial role in mentoring our dedicated and ambitious female students aged 16-18, providing them with the opportunity to pursue their rugby goals alongside their full-time education.

You will work closely with the Head of Rugby to manage the rugby programme, supporting the delivery of innovative and structured training sessions that align with the programme's goals. Your efforts will ensure that all students have the opportunity to enhance their skills and achieve outstanding results. Additionally, you will offer pastoral support and guidance to students throughout their educational journey.

What do you need to be a successful Assistant Rugby Coach at Activate Learning?

Successful candidates will have relevant experience working within the age-grade pathway and coaching, along with a strong understanding of contemporary coaching and training practices for the women's and girls' game. The ideal qualifications and experiences include:

  • ERACA (Level 3) Coaching Qualification (or a willingness to complete it while in the role).
  • Ability to demonstrate comprehensive tactical and technical knowledge of rugby union.
  • Familiarity with current coaching and training practices.
  • Knowledge of domestic, international, and pathway women's rugby (desirable).


In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners, have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
