The successful candidate will be expected to be an excellent multitasker, having exceptional communication and time management skills.
Accounting Assistants can expect to assist the accounting department with data entry, processing, recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits or fact-checking, and preparing budgets and reports. You should be thorough, accurate, and honest with good bookkeeping skills.
Accounting Assistant Responsibilities include:
Sales and Purchase LedgerCredit ControlBank and accounts reconciliationProcessing daily payments and receipts/ payment runsTaking care of administrative tasks, such as correspondence, filing and printingMaintaining accurate and detailed customer records and creating new customer accountsMonth end invoicing and proceduresAssisting with the procurement function.
Accounting Assistant Requirements:
Associate degree in related field with work experience.Suitable AAT-qualified candidates will be considered.More education, experience, or additional certifications and licenses may be required.Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills.Experience with Xero is preferred.Exceptional time management, verbal, and written communication skills.Familiarity with basic accounting principles.Professional manner and a strong ethical code.Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
