We are the biggest butter and powder drying facility in the UK We have 11 production lines in the factory producing over 70 different products We are the home of Anchor butter and we are very proud of it Significant investment is coming to site to upgrade our Powder facility and Effluent treatment plantSo what do our Area Team Leader in Spreads actually do?
You will be responsible for leading and managing our Spreads department. You will take ownership for the Blends and Emulsion plant and 2 Spreads production lines. You will have 25 direct reports across 4 shifts and on days including operatives, deputies, a LEAN specialist and an improvement Engineer.
What else will the role involve?
Owns 24/7 safety, quality, cost, delivery, motivation, planet KPI results for all lines under her/his responsibility and delivers the agreed KPIs Responsible for area targets & resource planning Manages Core Team (LEAN Specialist and Improvement Engineer) and Operators to jointly improve line performance, Builds team capabilities through active coaching of the Core Team and Operators Creates direction and makes strategic decisions to move the department forward Cooperates and communicates with the supporting departments (Logistics & Planning, QEHS, Engineering, Operations Support, Projects, Packaging, etc.) Attends and leads meetings relevant to the Department (Site DRM, Planning meetings, Project meetings, etc.) Drives improvement plans for his/her area Leads safety and quality investigations when required and supports her/his team to complete them Manages attendance and performance of the team members Leads investigations and disciplinary hearings when required Conducts Dialogues for direct reports and participates in Calibration sessions Ensures that skills & training matrices are in place, identifies gaps and completes training plans Runs recruitment activities to fill vacancies Implements and executes the local Business plan within the area of responsibilityEnsuring a healthy, inclusive and safe working environment, and quality and food safety mindset. Use LEAN tools, APS, SPC and OEE to improve performance of the filling lines and be held accountable for Continuous Improvements in this areaWhat you'll need in order to be successful in the role
