OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION

GCIB Financial Institutions (FIG) Team is the coverage team for non-Japanese Financial Institutions in EMEA, providing a wide range of services through our commercial, trust banking and securities services, drawing on the global capabilities of MUFG.

As part of the EMEA FI Strategy, the Sponsor Coverage Team was established, within the broader FIG team, to focus specifically on the Financial Sponsors client base of MUFG in EMEA.

This team has the responsibility to expand business with Financial Sponsors by collaborating with various stakeholders not only from the Bank but also MUSE (Securities) and MUTB (Trust Bank).

The Sponsor Coverage team manages relationships both as the Global Relationship Manager (GRM) for European sponsors and Local Relationship Manager (RM) for non-European clients, while keeping a globally coordinated approach with US and APAC coverage colleagues.

The team is responsible to maintain coordination with relevant product offices (ie. Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Capital Markets, Structured Solutions, Funds Finance, FX, Securitization, etc) to agree on client prioritization, focused multi-product offerings and support over client engagement and senior level connectivity across all sponsor clients.
Clients can benefit from the strength and depth of our network.

We are the leading JPY clearing bank amongst the high street banks and have a presence in over 50 countries around the world.

Our FIG team in Europe, Middle East and Africa has offices in London, Dusseldorf and Dubai.
